Dwayne Johnson’ The Rock’, born in Hayward, California, is best remembered for his wrestling career and his title ‘The Rock’. During his time, The Rock is known as one of the greatest and most popular WWE wrestlers. Things were never easy for Dwayne, and he established his name’s worth by winning seven consecutive WWE championships.

Childhood and Early Life

Born to a Canadian father and a mom of Samoan origin, Dwayne attended Richmond Road Primary School in New Zealand. He passes the 10th Standard at President William McKinley High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dwayne was famous and well praised for his sportsman capabilities from his youth days.

He was also a part of the school’s track and field and wrestling teams. However, he also chose to avail a full-time scholarship to play defensive tackle from the University of Miami. Johnson was an encouraging footballer and got many offers from other colleges.

Football Career

In 1991, Dwayne was also chosen for the Miami Hurricanes National Championship team. Sadly, he met with a severe accident and was severely injured during the match. He then chose to stay away from any more events because of his injury and was finally replaced by Warren Sapp.

Dwayne then entered the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 1995. This year, he continued wrestling as a career option like his other family members. His expert wrestling training commenced hereafter.

Wrestling Career

With the sequence name of his grandfather’s and father’s ring names, Johnson made his WWE debut as Rocky Maivia. He was also given the nickname “The Blue Chipper “. Dwayne won several matches and championships against his fellow wrestlers, some of whom were as leading as The Brooklyn Brawler, Triple H, etc.

However, his work as a wrestler was not the smoothest one in his life. He faced many difficulties and got into feuds with some of the most famous names of the wrestling world, such as The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Rikishi, John Cena, and Vince. Some of his companions even said that he had a critical problem with people and often hurt the viewers during his matches.

Dwayne suffered a critical knee injury and another intestinal injury when tendons were torn from his pelvis. He even lost some of the events after being injured. Dwayne never gave up on these difficulties. He proved utterly that hard work and fate always pay off. The Rock then won seven following WWF Championships and created a record.


Apart from that, he also stayed with his win at the Global Warming by defeating Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Dwayne was fatally beaten after this event and many other events. The Rock continued his race and eventually won his 8th WWE Title at Royal Rumble, which he held at the Elimination Chamber against Punk.


Dwayne’s tremendous wrestling skills connected with this innate charisma and speaking skills also won him millions of fans and product advertisements before he finally got the chance to work in Hollywood.

Hollywood Career

He then joined Hollywood and acted in some of the most successful films like The Scorpion King and Fast & Furious 6. His debut in the motion picture appeared as The Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns, 2011.


Johnson appeared in many other films, including the fifth and sixth parts of The Fast and the Furious series. He has many other movie credits in his pocket, like G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Fast Five, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Fast & Furious 6, Snitch, etc. His acting talents earned him many special awards like the Teen choice award in the section of Choice Sleazebag for the movie The Mummy Returns and the Kids choice prize as “Favourite Male Butt Kicker” in 2013 Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

Personal Life

In August 2019, Johnson tied the knot with his long-time lover, singer/music producer Lauren Hashian. The two are Jasmine Lia’s children (b. December 2015) and Tiana Gia (b. April 2018). Johnson also has a child, Simone Alexandra, from his first marriage. He and his high school lover, Dany Garcia, wed in 1997 and split up a decade later, though she serves as his manager.

In 2006, Dwayne Johnson founded the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation, working for terminally ill children. In 2007, with his ex-wife, Johnson donated 1 million dollars to the University of Miami to support the renovation of its football facilities. Dwayne Johnson has also worked with Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Off the Screen

Johnson had shared some of his early-life struggles, including his family’s eviction from their Hawaii home when he was just 14. He told the UK publication The Express that his mom tried to commit suicide by walking into traffic the following year, an event that left him battling depression.

Despite the enormous problems he faced and the obstacles that came in his way, Dwayne Douglas Johnson is a faithful winner and a fighter by heart.
